Somers @ 62

Credit Fox News

Suzanne Somers has always been preoccupied with staying fit and looking young.

But has the former Three’s Company star gone too far?

On an appearance Thursday on "Oprah," Somers, 62, invited cameras into her home to watch her daily routine of hormone injections and supplement popping.

She begins with rubbing a syringe of estrogen on one arm, every day. For two weeks out of the month, she rubs progesterone on the other.

After that, she injects estriol vaginally, which she graciously spared the audience from watching.

But it doesn’t end there.

She can’t start her day without taking 40 pills, 15 of which she downs in a thick, yellow smoothie her husband makes for her (she says it's the secret to their marriage!). Then she ends her day with an additional 20 pills at night before bed.

While she admits the routine makes her seem “like some kind of fanatic,” she says it has helped her beat the “Seven Dwarfs of Menopause: Itchy, B**chy, Sleepy, Sweaty, Bloated, Forgetful and All Dried Up.”

“I wanna be there,” she said, pointing to her head. “Until I’m 110. And I'm going to do what I have to do to get there.”

And she isn't kidding. Somers has also been the spokeswoman for the fitness device ThighMaster, has admitted that she is “not against going under the knife,” and has released several exercise DVDs and books.

She would not be my pick but I have thought that Suzanne Somers looked good for her age I mean after all she is 62. But now that I have seen this sorry I put this right up there with plastic surgery and ladies getting boob jobs. Who needs them..... I think she has gone right over the edge. If you can't keep your looks the natural way then just forget it. That goes for men and hair weaves and hair plugs and all that crap... Give it up you are bald live with it.

Something Fun To Laugh At

Most of you know I have two cats of my own I love cats (Go figure a man who likes cats & is not gay but anyway thats another blog) But I like cats because they always have so much personality. With cats you also have to work at getting them to trust you and you have to work for their attention.... Dogs on the other hand they don't care who they are paying attention to as long as they are getting the attention in return. Anyway I hope you enjoyed the video.

You Don't Want To Mess With A Woman Who Is Trying To Sleep

I have known since I was a young kid & mom used to take naps on the weekends in the afternoon. That you DO NOT wake a woman up who is trying to sleep or who is trying to take a nap. And now that I am older Amy is the same way she takes a nap And I know not to call during that time and I know not to call on the weekends at 7:00am when I get up. LOL Someone forgot to tell this guy don't wake a woman who is trying to sleep.

A Louisiana woman allegedly shot her boyfriend because he would not let her sleep, according to The News Star.

Police found Roshonda Anding's boyfriend in his car with a single shot to his hip, the newspaper reports. He was taken to LSU Medical Center.

The 21-year-old was charged with aggravated battery.

Anding told police that she shot her boyfriend, "because he was bothering her and wouldn't let her sleep," according to a police report.

I-70 WHAT A MESS BUT THANKS FOR DINNER DOUG

A sudden 1 1/2-inch snowfall turned I-70 westbound deadly Monday, killing two Frederick County residents and injuring more than a dozen people.

Forty cars, seven tractor-trailers and three box trucks collided on I-70 just east of the 36-mile marker west of Myersville, said Lt. Sandy Trumpower of the Mount Aetna fire department.

The pileup was reported at 12:20 p.m., police said. Workers began removing vehicles about 5 p.m., after the Maryland State Police Aviation Division documented the crash scene.

Cpl. James Grinnan of the Maryland State Police said the two people who died were from Frederick County. He could not release their names as their relatives had not been contacted.

By 9:30 p.m., traffic backups continued to extend about 10 miles in both directions of I-70, according to a state press release.

The crash likely was a result of the sudden snowfall, which may have caused a chain reaction, Trumpower said.

By the time emergency officials got to the scene, the westbound highway was blocked off, she said. Tractor-trailers had smashed into each other and three or four cars were under, between and on top of them.

A fourth semi had rolled and buried itself deep into a wooded area, with the cab flipped 180 degrees from the trailer.

Of the dozen people taken to the Waynesboro Hospital in Pennsylvania, nearly half were in serious condition, Trumpower said.

Two of them were in surgery Monday, said Kevin Lewis, director of Washington County Emergency Services. He did not know their conditions.

As investigators with the Maryland State Police Hagerstown barrack and the CRASH Team investigated the crash -- westbound lanes were closed and traffic re-routed to U.S. 40 and U.S. 40A -- another 60 people were bused to the American Red Cross shelter in Hagerstown.

They huddled on cots and in chairs consoling each other and grabbing a snack or two.

Between bites of fried chicken, Evan Betler, 27, of Arlington, Va., said he was heading west on I-70, on his way to go skiing, when he saw that two tractor-trailers ahead of him were at a standstill.

He hit his brakes and his car slid 100 feet, veering left and coming to rest in a stand of trees in the median.

He was all right, he said. But then he saw in the rear view mirror a sport utility vehicle heading toward him. He thought it was going to hit him.

"It went to my left," he said.

Later, he was told one of the men in a car that was in the woods near him had been struck.

The Medical Examiner's transport contractor, Dave Highbarger, said a man was struck in the leg after getting out of his vehicle.

Another group was a church congregation from Northern Virginia.

"Prayer works," Freda Christenson said. "Six cars were in our caravan and no one was hurt."

The congregation's bishop, Craig King, said a semi barricaded a few of the cars in his caravan against harm by landing next to them.

He described the scene as an example of human compassion. The people who weren't injured in the crash helped the injured, he said.

"They were helping people get out of cars on top of cars," he said.

Maryland State Police said the crashes appeared to be concentrated in three areas.

Witnesses described those as being on the right shoulder of the highway and toward the front where the tractor-trailers were.

The third spot was on the left side of the roadway, in the wooded median.

Shre McCain of Pittsburgh ended up there. Her boyfriend veered to the left and landed in the median. "He saw a car coming toward us and said, 'Get out.'" They worked their way through the brush as far as they could to escape the possibility of being struck.

Their pick-up truck was hit from behind, she said.

Her boyfriend, Khalid Goodrich of Pittsburgh, downplayed his reaction.

"My idol is Jack Bauer -- always calm."

Some of the cars at the start of the trail of collisions skidded and drove away. One of the drivers who stopped was Becky Natiello of Bethesda. She said she had to steer through two cars to escape being hit and landed on the right side of the highway near the guard rail.

She called 9-1-1. Behind her, the crash unfolded.

"Cars were just getting hit," she said.

****"The crash likely was a result of the sudden snowfall "

Ah no! The crash was caused by careless driving.. I see it everyday on I70 people even in good weather follow way to close for the speeds they are traveling. NO ONE leaves the proper following distance again even in good weather!

Sorry that people lost lives but when are people going to learn SLOW DOWN in bad weather!

On a side note.... Thank you Doug for dinner... You see knowing that it would take me hours to get home no matter what way I tried to go. I stayed in Frederick for dinner at Outback Steak House There is a story behind this when we heard here at work about the mess on 70 Doug (my boss) reminded me that he owed me a dinner at Outback. So he said "Take the company credit card and go have dinner since you won't be getting home anytime soon." So I did... And you might want to know why he owed me dinner? Well we made a bet early on in 08 that Obama was going to win the democratic nomination for president. Doug said "There is no way he will win." Well we made a bet I said "He IS going to win...." Doug said "I'll buy you dinner at Outback if he does." So last night was the pay off for me... So Thank you for dinner Doug! it was good! And I told you he would win and infact even though I didn't want him too I told you he was going all the way! And here we are today...

Clint Eastwood & Gran Torino A Must See

Its not to often that a movie would spark me to sit down and write a blog. But on Friday night I decided to go see the new movie with Clint Eastwood in it that he of course also directed. "Gran Torino" (watch the trailer)

'Gran Torino' takes early box office lead

Jan 10, 2009, 04:09 PM | by Joshua Rich

Clint Eastwood's latest action-drama, Gran Torino, cruised into first place as the weekend box office race got underway, grossing $9.6 mil on Friday. The movie had been a hit in limited release, banking more than $10 mil since its premiere last month; this is its first weekend playing wide. Close behind were two newcomers -- the horror flick The Unborn and the Anne Hathaway-Kate Hudson comedy, Bride Wars,

This movie was nothing like I thought it would be I had not really looked at any of the reviews or saw that much about it. I do like Clint Eastwood though and that is really why I went. Now that I have seen it I am so glad I did. Although some of the points in the movie might be good its NOT really a movie for the little ones.

From the Internet Movie Database Site:

Clint Eastwood stars as Walt Kowalski, a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy an old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor Tao, a young Hmong teenager under pressure from his gang member cousin, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Tao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.

A laugh for the day.

They have not released his name yet. But I wonder if any one has been able to ID that butt LOL

VAIL, Colo. — The guy who ended up dangling upside down from a ski lift with his bare bottom whistling in the wind probably doesn't want to hear any "ski bum" jokes. Vail Resorts said the 48-year-old man wasn't injured and was rescued after about seven minutes. His name hasn't been released.

Resort officials have said only that the man was trying to get on the Blue Ski Basin lift on New Year's Day. They haven't said what went wrong.

Resort workers stopped the lift, backed it up about 10 or 12 feet and rescued the man.

Bystanders snapped photos and posted them the Internet, showing a man who looks to be hanging by one ski boot, his ski pants and underwear apparently snagged in the chair and reaching no farther than his knees.

Vail spokeswoman Liz Biebl confirmed the photos on one site were in fact the victim.

New Years Resolutions

I find when I make New Years Resolutions I almost never keep them. So I don't know why I bother but I still do. So I thought I would list just SOME of the things that I am going to try and work on this year. Trust me the list is much longer then what I am going to post here.
  • Walk more..... I started walking in the fall of 08' about once every two weeks or so I was going down to the city park and walking around. As the weather around here has gotten colder I have stopped doing that. I will when spring gets here try to walk atleast once a week.
  • This will be a shocker for many of you but..... Read the Bible daily.... When I was in Georgia over Christmas Amy gave me a reading schedule that we are both going to try and follow. Its "read the Bible in 52 weeks" So I will need to read at least a little bit each and everyday.
  • More reading.....(I have to work at reading so thats why I posted this one) Mom got me a book for the first time EVER for Christmas Bill O'reilly's "A Bold Fresh Piece Of Humanity" I have a few other books of his so this one should be easy I am already a few chapters into this one.
  • RELAX try not to be so uptight about things...... This is going to be the hardest one for me. Because of the way I am and the way things are right now I worry way to much about everything.
Along with the three top ones I have listed here there are a few that I am keeping to myself. I am looking forward to 09' with open eyes and arms and I am ready to put 08 behind me. It was a good year but at the same time a bad year. Business at my place or work could not have been worse.... Well ok I guess it could have.

I hope everyone has a GREAT 09'
