The Natural Talents

I was thinking about this yesterday, we had one of those days here at the shop that was one I would rather not have anymore of. You have those from time to time don't you? We just have to keep working do the best we can do and get on with the day and hope the next day will be better. So the story....

We had a vehicle in here yesterday I won't go into detail but it would not run it was towed in. After testing we found that there was no power getting to the electric fuel pump. Normally not a big deal start checking wiring, relays, & fuses something more often then not turns up. Long story short it was near the end of the day and we were all stuck. We called up a friend (who used to work for us) he was and is very sharp with electrical things. He stopped by to see what we had been banging our heads on all day. Was here for 15 min. or so and bingo found the issue for us. LOL Now mind you none of us are stupid between all of us in the shop we have over 60 years in the industry. My point to this is the person we called seems to have a natural talent for electrical work. The kicker is he is only 22 years old and HAS NEVER had formal training in electrical he just has the gift it is unreal.

Then I started thinking we all in some way or the other have a gift something that we are good at and I started thinking about myself and while this may pale by comparison. I was talking to a customer about this the other day on the phone. I seem to be able to tell right off the bat when a regular customer calls in. Who they are just by the sound of their voice. That is to say most of the time I can remember their names as soon as I hear them on the other end of the phone. Now we have a large customer base and to remember all those names first and last just amazes me. LOL I just wish my memory was as good in other areas of my life but its not..... So I guess I'll take what I can get. I am sure there are many other things if I think about it that I am good at. But this is just one example. How about you is there something you have a gift of. Something you are not just good at but great?
